The Children's Cancer Fund- Fundraising Day

The Children's Cancer Fund- Fundraising Day

(Picture 4.jpg)

On 27/08/2012 The Fiddlers Three Pub (Gateshead) will be hosting a fantastic fundraising Bungee Jump Event to raise essential funds for The Children's Cancer Fund!!!

THE FUND

The Children's Cancer Fund charity was set up many years ago to process unsolicited donations which were received, largely from families and friends of children being treated in the children's cancer unit in the Royal Victoria Infirmary.  The charity was subsequently registered with the Charity Commission  in 1992.  The unit cares for all children from the North of England who get cancer.  Approximately 100 new children each year come from an area extending from Berwick to Teesside and across to the West Coast, to include Whitehaven in Cumbria.

OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of the charity are to provide support, alleviate suffering and improve the care of children afflicted with cancer, particularly by the provision of additional medical and recreational equipment and, wherever possible, to provide welfare support to their families and helpers.

BUNGEE JUMP EVENT TO RAISE VITAL FUNDS FOR THE

DURHAM UNIVERSITY CHARITIES KOMMITTEE!!

About DUCK

DUCK is Durham University's version of RAG, run exclusively by students at Durham University.

DUCK exists to support and facilitate students and staff in fundraising hundreds of thousands of pounds each year to benefit local, national and international charities. DUCK was set up in the 1960s, and originally organised a single week-long event, but now operates the whole year round. We do it by running marathons and eating donuts, by trekking to Nepal and cycling across the UK, by stripping off and hitch-hiking to Dublin (although usually not at the same time).

EVENT INFO

DUCK (Durham University Charities K(c)ommittee) will be hosting Extreme Sensations Bungee on the 11th of May 2013 for a bungee jumping day held on Palace Green right in front of Durham's own Cathedral! The event will be open to the public, and participants can either sign up before with an entry fee of ~£25 plus some additional fundraising or just rock up on the day and pay a slightly larger set fee (fee's are estimates - exact fee's will be advertised closer to the date)! The event will be open from 9am until 5pm, and jumps will be from a massive 175ft!

So, ever fancied standing briefly atop one of England's most beautiful cities in the shadow of Durham Cathedral itself? Ever fancied throwing yourself off a crane from unfathomable heights? Ever fancied combining these two great curiosities?!

Liquid Nightclub Charity Fundraising Day

Liquid Nightclub Charity Fundraising Day

(liquid nightclub image.jpg)(Picture 8.jpg)

On 22/07/2012 Liquid Nightclub (Rotherham) will be hosting a fantastic charity fundraising day to raise essential funds for 'My Daddy is a Soldier' and 'Help for Hero's'!!!

MY DADDY IS A SOLDIER ADVENTURES

We are a charitable initiative for The Little Troopers at Home....

Our intention is to give children whose soldier parent(s) are away from the family home a focus and a secondary community where they feel safe and secure.

Last year our trek of Mount Snowdon with three British Army children was a huge success, the support for them was simply overwhelming.

We knew that many more British Army children could benefit from our experiences, and so My Daddy is a Soldier Adventures was born!

Help for Hero's

Help for Heroes strives towards 100% effectiveness – so that for every £1 donated, £1 will go directly to helping wounded Servicemen and women. So, we do exactly what we say on the tin – your donations go directly to supporting the wounded boys and girls.

We spend every penny possible on making grants that aim to provide practical, direct support for our wounded.

COCO, Newcastle Upon Tyne

COCO Fundraising Day

(COCO.png)

On Sunday 24th of November COCO are having a Fantastic Fundraising Event

Charity Info

COCO is an international children’s charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne. COCO works with communities in remote regions overseas to alleviate the poverty preventing children’s education. COCO stands for Comrades of Children Overseas, a name taken from the famous Comrades Marathon in South Africa which both our Co-Founders (Steve Cram MBE and Jim Panton) ran back in 1998. They both realised the impact fundraising could have on the lives of people blighted by poverty and believed that education provided the answer to overcoming poverty. From here COCO was born.

At COCO we are passionate about working with communities in remote regions that often go unnoticed by others and where our assistance will make the biggest difference possible. We aim to understand the needs of each community we work with so that we can fund projects that benefit the whole community and allow them to find their own solutions to poverty. We empower people so that they can become financially independent and able to afford to send their children to school. Education is our primary goal but we realise this requires involvement from the whole community. Our projects change lives and more importantly, our projects are sustainable so that eventually our assistance will no longer be required.

Currently COCO works in East Africa and Ghana and, since it was founded in 2000, has raised over £2.5 million. Last year alone, COCO’s projects positively impacted on the lives of over 15,000 people.

Winterton and District Branch

Winterton and Disctrict Branch Fundraising Day

(Winterton.png)

On Saturday 12th July 2014 Winterton and District Branch are having a Fantastic Fundraising Day

Charity Info

Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity dedicated to research into improving the lives of patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Our life-saving research is focused on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running ground-breaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.

Blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma affect people of all ages from babies to grandparents. We need to be sure that we reach all those touched by leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and give them the best possible chance of survival.

Funding research:

Following over 50 years of investment, we are now leading in the field of blood cancer research.

Our expertise and focus allows us to invest in only the best UK research that is delivering better treatments and cures for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

We need to raise £100million over the next five years to continue our life-saving research into better diagnosis, treatments and cures for all those with blood cancers.

Our passion:

Around 30,000 people of all ages are diagnosed in the UK with blood cancers every year.

We are rightly proud of the progress we have made with childhood leukaemia. When our charity started in 1960 children with leukaemia had virtually no chance of survival. Now thanks to our research nine out of ten survive the most common form of childhood leukaemia

We want to ensure people of all ages are given the best possible chance of survival and of living a normal healthy life after treatment for blood cancer.

Closer to a cure – thanks to you

Patients today are benefiting from our ground-breaking research over the past 50 years.

Our achievements are all the more remarkable given that we rely entirely on voluntary support and receive no government funding.

However, there is still much to do. We know research takes time but we are determined to beat blood cancers, however long it takes.

More Details: www.wix.com/beatbloodcancers/wintertonanddistrict

This year will be our second bungee jump held at the new Winterton Community Pavilion. We are very proud to be offering our refund scheme again in which jumpers that collect a minimum of £100 in sponsorship will receive their jump cost back. By taking part in this event and collecting sponsorship you will help fund our vital research to beat blood cancers and improve the lives of the 30,000 people affected by blood cancers in the UK every year, from babies to grandparents everyone is effected by blood cancers making it one of the most common forms of cancer. On Wednesday 16th of July ABF The Soldiers Charity are having a Fantastic Fundrasing Day

Charity Info

We are The Soldier’s Charity. Never ending support for our soldiers since 1944.

We give lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families. They risk so much for us, but for them, it’s just doing their job. In return, we provide financial assistance when they are in real need. That’s what we’ve been here to offer for 70 years.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is for soldiers, for life. We provide financial assistance to all soldiers and their families when in need. Even when a soldier leaves the Army they are still part of our family and eligible for our help. The scope of our work is huge. Half of our money is given direct to individuals to help in areas such as post-injury assistance, vocational support, mobility assistance, education bursaries, care home fees and respite breaks. The other half is given as grants to other charities who support our soldiers.
