ZIP ACROSS THE RIVER TEES TO CELEBRATE

THE QUEEN'S DIAMOND JUBILEE!!!!

Extreme Sensations are once again proud to present the 'GIANT ZIP LINE' across the River Tees following the success of last years event.

Launching from the Scar Top (next to the castle) each Zipper will experience the ultimate adrenaline rush whilst zipping through the trees and over the River Tees and finally landing in Startforth.

Due to the Success of last years event it is advised that ALL  zippers should pre-register online, however limited places will be available to purchase on the day of the event.

Each Event is open to Charities, fundraisers and the General Public. If you would like to request a sponsorship pack and raise money for a Charity of you choice please call our Events team on- 01833 695773.

As part of our effort to help village halls in Teesdale and Weardale a 

zip-lining event will be taking place over the River Tees from the castle 

grounds at Barnard Castle during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend from 

Friday 2nd. June to Monday 4th. June, 2012.

The event will be organised by Extreme Sensations of 13a, Horse Market, 

Barnard Castle, DL12 8LY (Tel 01833 695773), a company of 20 years 

experience who held a very successful event last year in the same location.

The company also arranges bungee jumping and is involved with film-making. 

One of the parachute simulation machines used by the team was also used in 

the train/helicopter scene with Tom Cruise in the film Mission Impossible.

Entrants from ten years upwards may take part. There will be an initial 

Extreme Sensations lifetime membership fee of £20 enabling entrants to 

participate in any future sport with the company.

GrassSnakes will pay the additional £20 zip-lining entry fee for anyone 

raising over £100 in sponsorship money for the GrassSnakes Village Halls 

Charity Fund. Sponsorship forms are now available.

“Butterwick Hospice is looking for 60 people to take part in this fundraising zip line event to raise money for the services that the Hospice provide. Richardson Community Hospital in Barnard Castle hosts the Butterwick Hospice Outreach service every Monday and currently accommodates 10 patients. Friday's Day Hospice at the Richardson is specifically for patients suffering from life limiting neurological illnesses. The Neurological Service is also available at Bishop Auckland and includes services for patients suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinsons Disease.

Entrants from ten years upwards may take part. There will be an initial registration fee of £20 (non-refundable) and Butterwick Hospice will pay the additional £20 zip-lining entry fee for anyone raising over £60 in sponsorship money. Sponsorship forms and fundraising support packs will be available upon registration.

DURHAM UNIVERSITY CHARITIES KOMMITTEE!!

About DUCK

DUCK is Durham University's version of RAG, run exclusively by students at Durham University.

DUCK exists to support and facilitate students and staff in fundraising hundreds of thousands of pounds each year to benefit local, national and international charities. DUCK was set up in the 1960s, and originally organised a single week-long event, but now operates the whole year round. We do it by running marathons and eating donuts, by trekking to Nepal and cycling across the UK, by stripping off and hitch-hiking to Dublin (although usually not at the same time).

Every year DUCK sends thousands of students to do charitable work around the world, from Jordan to Edinburgh to Paris to Tanzania, and entertains thousands more through events like the famous Grand Durham DUCK race. All of this is made possible through the hard work and dedication of Durham University student volunteers, who will do whatever it takes to raise money for almost 200 charitable causes each year. As well as helping students fundraise for charities from 'Save the Children' to 'Help for Heroes', we also run an annual allocations process, through which charities can apply for grants to fund specific projects. This process is how DUCK supports dozens of small, local causes every year. Our costs are covered by the unrestricted fundraising activities we organise each year.
